ALBANY, N.Y. (March 9, 2019) – Two basketball championships, a top 10 showdown in lacrosse and track & field championships highlight an exciting weekend for UAlbany sports fans.

“We are very fortunate to have multiple teams playing and generating national exposure for the University this weekend,” said Mark Benson, UAlbany’s athletic director. “These opportunities help from a recruiting perspective and instill a sense of pride among students, alumni and Great Danes fans across the country.”

The team's also won their respective titles at the IC4A/ECAC Championships last weekend. This was a first-ever double win for both programs in these prestigious multi-team competitions.

On Monday, head coach Roberto Vives was named Northeast Region Men’s Coach of the Year for the Northeast region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
