Join in celebrating faculty research at the University at Albany. Over 80 members of the UAlbany faculty will showcase their research from an array of disciplines, ranging from “String theory and black hole information paradox” to “Health, toxicant exposure, and NYS Native Americans” to “School racial composition and adolescent romantic relationships.”

Reception, Music Performance, and Art and Art History Display

Enjoy a refreshing beverage and hors d'oeuvres  during our social reception. During the  reception, faculty from the Department of Art and Art History will display  recent creative and scholarly projects with photos, curated by Rachel Dressler, that exemplify the work of  the art faculty and art historians. Department of Music faculty member Victoria von Arx and students will  give a chamber music presentation in the Recital Hall adjacent to the Futterer  Lounge.

The Exemplars Symposium: A Series of Short Talks by Faculty Experts

Be engaged by faculty experts as they present on topics and ideas that are inspirational and informative. Short talks will be presented by leading UAlbany faculty researchers, including:

  • Arthur N. Applebee, Distinguished Professor and Chair, Department of Educational Theory and Practice; Director, Center for English Learning and Achievement
  • Marlene Belfort, Distinguished Professor, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology; Member, National Academy of Science
  • Edward L. Hannan, Distinguished Professor, School of Public Health 
  • Malcolm Russell-Einhorn, Research Professor, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy; Director, Center for International Development 

A Celebration of President Robert J. Jones

A poem will be presented in honor of President Jones’ appointment as the 19th president of UAlbany
